1981 PB printing of the 1977 edition (11x8-inches, 528-pages), in very nice clean condition except the prior owner's name has been clipped out - along with a sizable chunk of the author's portrait on the other side of the page. Also, the text is printed on inexpensive pastel-colored paper. Still, the book typically sells on eBay for $20 to $40 . . .

From Amazon/GoodReads reviews: "I purchased this book in the 1970's in Seattle at the Pike Street Market from Carla Emery. Since then I've purchased it for friends and family. It's a fascinating book with occasional stories, background and instructions of "how tos"... how to make root beer, how to make honey, how to plant corn... on and on it goes. I love the book as a reference and just to scan through for curiosity..."; "A Homesteader's Bible. Not only does this book contain incredible amounts of tried-and-tested information, it's a wonderful feat of independent publishing. Earliest editions of the Recipe Book were unique in that they were mimeographed and hand-assembled by the author and friends. Those familiar with the book know that's a huge task! At 700 pages, it earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the "largest mimeographed volume in general circulation". It has since seen many editions and must surely be on the shelf of virtually every homesteader and back-to-the-lander. The author passed away awhile back but what a legacy she has left us. Tip: buy the earlier versions such as this one. Later versions released by a publishing house became a bit too polished and some of the wonderful quirkiness disappeared."
