From recent Amazon/GoodReads reviews: "Imagine if the princess not only saved herself, but was Black? This was a quick comic read that was about saving yourself and friendship. I did like the art. The author/illustrator is a white dude with a Black wife and kids, so it's neat reading that he wanted strong females of color represented."; "Fun and fast-paced. I wish I would have had this series in middle school! I love its continual cheeky thumb at traditional fantasy tropes. Also heck yes to a pirate story line."; "Love me some gay feminist pirate content."; "I love how these comics are so female positive."
