2002 signed PB 80-pages, in Gift-Worthy condition. From the back of the Book: Victoria, British Columbia is one of the west's most haunted places, and Bastion Square, in the heart of Old Town, is the centre of the city's paranormal activity. For thousands of years Aborigina people lived here; in 1843 the Hudson's Bay Company built its fort here; in 1858 it boomed with the gold rush. The ghosts of people from these distant times still linger in Bastion Square and the nearby alleys and picturesque courtyards.
John Adams is famous for his Ghostly Walks and other tours about Victoria's fascinating and colorful past. A historian, folklorist and museum professional, John is the author of three books about Victoria and British Columbia history. In 1971 as part of the Old Town Study Group he pioneered walking tours through Victoria's Old Town to help save its derelict heritage buildings from demolition. In 1987 he initiated the tour program at Ross Bay Cemetery with the Old Cemeteries Society to help combat increasing vandalism. In 2000 he founded his own tour company.
From Amazon/GoodReads reviews: "If you visit Victoria, I definitely recommend you go on one of the Ghostly Walk tours! Alas, a number of places in the book closed, but there are still plenty to go check out. And with ghost things, in general, it's most fun to suspend your disbelief and enjoy the stories fully, regardless of your belief."; "I went on holiday to Victoria, BC, Canada and took my son on a Ghostly Walk Tours. We had a blast. I bought this book to read the stories to my son. These are small nonfiction stories about the history of Victoria. Now every time we go to Victoria we always head to one of the 7 different Ghostly Walk Tours. We enjoyed our time so much learning about the history of the city, hotels, shops, jails, restaurants, and streets."
And some recent reviews from Trip Advisor (in case you decide to go on a tour): "Jason provided a spooky and fascinating historical account of Victoria's ghosts. The walk was a great experience as we made several stops around town. Jason is a master storyteller who we thoroughly enjoyed."; "Our guide, Jason, is an excellent storyteller with great knowledge of the areas we were shown. Definitely recommend if you're into spooky history!"; "Our tour guide did a great job! He knew much about the spooky ghost stories, but also about the history of Victoria. "
