1988 HCDJ in nice clean condition, with some wear to the dust jacket (see photo). A classic oldie/goldie. From the jacket flap: "In this book you'll find everything from tangy dips and spreads, refreshing salads, marvelous main dishes, heartwarming breads, savory sauces and creamy soups to irresistible cookies and candies, sensational pies, sinfully delicious chocolate desserts and cakes as well as cool, luscious cheesecakes. There are recipes here to suit your every need, whether you're looking for a new and totally unique appetizer for unexpected guests or a simple-to-do side dish, or a tried and true "Philly" cheesecake, this cookbook will be a welcome addition to your kitchen library."

"Cream cheese, truly an American original, was developed over a century ago and was first produced commercially by a farmer in upstate New York. It was first used only as a spread on breads, toast or crackers. Adding fresh preserves or mixing it with fruit transformed this delightfully delicate cheese into an endless variety of taste sensations. No one had thought of using cream cheese in recipes until the mid 1920s. In fact, it was 1928 when Kraft first published a recipe folder which included a recipe for its new Kraft Philadelphia Cream Cake. It was an instant success. This all-time favorite has been renamed the Supreme Cheesecake. A modern version of it, called 'Philly' Cheesecake, appears on the cover of this book and you will find the recipe for this classic dessert on page 187."

From Amazon/GoodReads reviews: "I have tried so many recipes from this cookbook, and found them almost universally good. It is a little out of date, with no nutritional info and not enough pictures, but still extremely useful. The first place I look when I'm planning on making a cheesecake."; "Great book, wonderful recipes, easy to use"; "I had this book and lost it 20 years ago. Was thrilled to find it!"; "Great gift. Bought for my 16 year old great grand daughter for Christmas. She loves my cheese cake. Now she can make her own."
